THE NORTHEAST NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL (NENC) was established in 1966. It is the oldest continually operating neighborhood association in the City of South Bend. The NENC is a 501(c)3 non-profit public entity.
MISSION. The NENC exists: (1) to promote, without profit, needed community services to the residents of the northeast side of South Bend, Indiana; and (2) to develop partnerships between the residents of the northeast side of South Bend, Indiana, and inter-community relations with neighboring communities, including universities, colleges, businesses, religious institutions, government agencies, and any other interested parties. NORTHEAST NEIGHBORHOOD BOUNDARIES. The boundaries of the Northeast Neighborhood are: Angela Boulevard and Edison Road on the north; Twyckenham Drive on the east; Colfax on the south; and the St. Joseph River and Michigan Avenue on the west.
NENC ANNUAL BOARD MEETING. The NENC Annual Board Meeting is generally held the second Monday in June at the Robinson Community Learning Center. All are welcome to attend.
Any individual who resides within the boundaries of the Northeast Neighborhood is eligible for membership. Annual dues are $5 per member.
NENC OFFICERS & BOARD OF DIRECTORS. The NENC is guided by a Board of Directors made up of no more than thirty (30) neighborhood residents of the Northeast Neighborhood. Click here for a list of the 2015-2015 NENC Officers & Board Members.
NENC BOARD MEETINGS. The NENC Board meets on the second Monday of each month at 5:30pm at the Northeast Neighborhood Center, the former firehouse on the NW corner of Notre Dame Ave. and SR23. The annual meeting is held on the second Monday each June at The Robinson Community Learning Center.

THE NENC FOOD PANTRY. The Food Pantry is located in the Northeast Neighborhood Center at 803 N. Notre Dame Ave. Recipients must show proof of residency in the 46617 area and are eligible for monthly distribution. Operating hours are Tuesday 9-11am and 2-4pm, Wednesday 2-4pm, and Friday 2-4pm. Monetary and in-kind donations are always welcome. Donations can be dropped off at the Food Pantry during operating hours.
